first_img Share 48 Views   no discussions LocalNewsSports Foreign football coaches assist Dominica with strategic training by: – February 1, 2014 The coaches are Gary St Rose of St. Lucia, Milkon Hyke of Holland and Eric of Belgium.The Dominica Football Coaches Association has received strategic training to assist its membership to improve their training skills through a three-day visit of three foreign coaches.The Dominica Football Coaches Association in collaboration with the St. Lucia Football Association and the Dominica Football Association hosted the coaches, Gary St Rose of St. Lucia, Milkon Hyke of Holland and Eric of Belgium from Thursday, January 30, 2014 to today, Saturday February, 2014.The purpose of the visit is to help in the formation of a youth development plan for football and to give youth coaches strategies to improve their coaching skills,” public relations officer of the Association, Albert Titre said in an interview with Dominica Vibes.public relations officer of the Dominica Football Coaches Association, Albert TitreOn Friday, the coaches met with secondary school teachers “to help them understand how to deal with the students and how to organize football within the school system”.They also met with different academy and club coaches around the island on Friday.“This is going to be our main session where we organize strategic plans for coaches for the youth in Dominica,” Titre explained.Today, Saturday, February 1, 2014, the coaches met with local academy coaches where they engaged them in on-field sessions aimed at teaching the local coaches drills they can engage their players in.He said this visit by the foreign coaches will “go a long way for Dominica”.“Hopefully, as long as we can get into contact with them, we’re going to make it an ongoing thing in Dominica”.The goal of the Association, according to Titre, is to organizing programs and festivals in different districts across the island.“We want to go on a coaching drive to recruit coaches in Dominica, we really need coaches for the number of active kids we have playing the game, both women and men, we really want to go on a membership drive,” Titre said.
