With Halloween a couple of weeks away, there is still plenty of time to visit the Sweet Pickin’s Pumpkin Patch to find that perfect pumpkin for carving or decorating.Before picking your pumpkin, take time to explore the DeVrieses’ farm. Learn about farm animals at a petting zoo that includes goats, alpacas and sheep, or wander through the bunny village. Kids and their parents are welcome to take turns pedaling through the hay-lined “trike maze,” play in the sand box or relax on the porch at the barn. Try not to get lost in the new corn maze while zig-zagging through the tall overhanging corn stalk and discover zero gravity while bouncing on the “pumpkin pillow.” New this year is the “spider web,” a web of ropes intertwined for climbing. Treats such as caramel apples and cookies are available for purchase. Or enjoy a bag of freshly popped kettle corn. The “pumpkin train,” a line of wagons being pulled by a green tractor, is popular for visiting families. Ride the train around the farm before heading through the heart of the pumpkin patch. Sweet Pickin’s is open through Oct. 31. Admittance is free for children 2 and under.How to get there: From downtown Kalispell, travel east on U.S. Highway 2. Continue straight onto MT Highway 35.
