JScent Take The Scent of Japan With You

first_img Have you ever been to Japan? Ever wanted to visit there? Whether you’re a Japanophile or just dreaming about going overseas for an awesome visit, the J-Scent Perfume Collection is for you. It’s a set of fragrances meant to evoke thoughts of the country itself, and it’s an awesome idea like that of what fragrance company Demeter sells: scents based on places, nostalgic items, ideas, and more. The J-Scent Collection’s first three scents include Roasted Green Tea, Wasanbon, and Agarwood, which are meant to be uniquely Japanese. Agarwood is a heartwood that’s produced when lign-aloe trees are infected with mold, and it’s used in traditional Japanese incense, according to RocketNews24. Roasted green tea has a much more delicate scent, and you’ve probably smelled it before if you’re into tea. It tastes delicious both hot and cold, and this perfume will evoke “the feeling of having a chat with an intimate friend.”The Wasanbon scent is something you might not recognize, but it’s a fine-grained sugar that’s made in southern Japan out of sugarcane. It’s used to make wagashi, traditional Japanese candy, and the scent is meant to smell a lot like those colorful little candies. These perfumes aren’t meant to be “sexy” so much as comforting and nostalgic, all bringing forward the feeling of visiting or being in Japan. It’s likely there will be several additional scents coming out soon meant to capture the same sort of feeling. If I had to guess, there might be some Sakura scents as well, since when you think of Japan, undoubtedly you think of cherry blossoms as well. What kind of scents do you think “personify” Japan that should be bottled? Is there something you associate with the country that would make sense as something someone might wear as a perfume? Here’s to good ol’ Japan, and all the scent memories it evokes.
