first_img Share Houston AstrosMLB has cleared the Houston Astros of allegations of sign stealing.Major League Baseball (MLB) has cleared the Houston Astros of sign stealing allegations during their American League Championship Series with the Boston Red Sox.The Cleveland Indians also filed a complaint with MLB about a similar incident that reportedly happened at their ballpark during their playoff series against Houston earlier this month.“With respect to both incidents regarding a Houston Astros employee,” MLB said in a statement released Wednesday, “security identified an issue, addressed it and turned the matter over to the Department of Investigations.”The statement noted that a “thorough investigation concluded that an Astros employee was monitoring the field to ensure that the opposing Club was not violating any rules” and added MLB considers the matter “closed.”MLB says all Clubs remaining in the playoffs have been notified to refrain from these actions and to direct complaints about any in-stadium rules violations to MLB staff for investigation and resolution.last_img
